I’m Michael Faber, a freelance graphic designer in Durham, North Carolina with an interest in print design, branding, typography, photography, dogs, cooking, letterpress, and a bunch of other goodness. I love talking design so if you have a project in mind or just want to chat about the relative merits of postmodernist typography or traditional Southern cuisine (I’m a Western NC barbeque guy - please don’t hold it against me), feel free to contact me.

About
Welcome to my blog. I see this as an opportunity to showcase some of my work and inspiration and hopefully get some solid feedback from the community. I’ve learned so much over the last few years reading design- and typography-related blogs through inspirational posts, process posts, tutorials, and just really interesting links to great content. My only hope is that through this space, I can pay back some of that knowledge to the online community and continue to learn a bit myself as I go along. Comments are always welcomed and I’ll try to respond to questions posed here as regularly as possible.
I’m currently employed at Duke University in Durham, NC consulting on all things multimedia and have spent my evenings over the last four years working on freelance projects. To check out my work on those projects, and some of my own personal work, head over to Behance and take a peek at my portfolio. I love to design logos, postcard/mailers, posters, and all sorts of print-related projects. I also have an interest in sculpture and photography and may occasionally post on those topics.
Outside of the realm of design, I love cooking, hanging out with my lovely girlfriend, and playing with Stella, my extra-toed freak mutt.
Cheers,
Michael Faber
